Checking IP when external off

I have external access to media browser server set to off.  However noticed in the logs it still seems to be reaching out for current external IP info.

 

2014-04-04 08:42:41.3817 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: http://bot.whatismyipaddress.com/

 

Can these calls be disabled if you choose not to allow it to be externally accessible or does it serve some other purpose I don't know?

yes i imagine at some point in the future there will be a way
