GothsterC 50 Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Hello, I am using the latest version of Emby on a Windows 10 server and am experiencing a bug with multiple versions that appears to be unique to this movie. I have a directory called: Othello (The Tragedy of Othello - The Moor of Venice) [1951] In that directory I have two movies named: Othello (The Tragedy of Othello - The Moor of Venice) [1951] - 1952 Version.mkv Othello (The Tragedy of Othello - The Moor of Venice) [1951] - 1955 Version.mkv Emby does not recognize that as a multiple versions case. The titles match the directory name and the version info follows the format. The hyphen in the title shouldn't matter as the algorithm should be able to detect it is part of the title because of the directory name or it should use something like that last hyphen in the file name. I tried loading them one at a time into Emby and that didn't matter either. In any case, this should work and it doesn't. Thanks.
Luke 42093 Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 When the version starts with a number such as 1952 version, there's currently an open issue where it does not get recognized properly. We'll be looking to resolve this in a future update. Thanks.
GothsterC 50 Posted August 8, 2018 Author Posted August 8, 2018 I tried your suggestion to avoid starting the version with a number. I first renamed the one file to: Othello (The Tragedy of Othello - The Moor of Venice) [1951] - European Version from 1952.mkv So far so good. Then I added in the other file as: Othello (The Tragedy of Othello - The Moor of Venice) [1951] - US and UK Version from 1955.mkv and it still failed to recognize them as multiple versions. So there must be something else happening. BTW, I have several other files with versions that start with 1_versionname1, 2_versionname2 to force the primary file for the cover art and Emby still recognizes them as multiple versions. Thanks.
Luke 42093 Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Thanks for the feedback. Yes it might not be a problem with all file names starting with a number. It could just be 4-digit years or it may be due to the space after the year. It's probably one of those two things throwing it off. Thanks.
GothsterC 50 Posted August 8, 2018 Author Posted August 8, 2018 Just one more data point. I tried the following and it still failed: Othello (The Tragedy of Othello - The Moor of Venice) [1951] - European Version_1952.mkv Othello (The Tragedy of Othello - The Moor of Venice) [1951] - US and UK Version_1955.mkv
Happy2Play 9788 Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 These are technically not multi-versions as they have different providerids for each yeared version.
trusselo 225 Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 (edited) you also need folder name to match file name Movie (YEAR)\Movie (YEAR) - Tag.mkv - will work Movie \ Movie (year) - Tag.mkv - will not work. you will want: the folder / file names to be: Othello (The Tragedy of Othello - The Moor of Venice) [1951] / Othello (The Tragedy of Othello - The Moor of Venice) [1951] - 1952 Version.mkv Edited September 29, 2019 by trusselo 1
