Show's 'ended' status not apparent

I am refreshing library metadata every 90 days...Show ended status from tvdb missing on many ended shows, perhaps all shows not already ended when 1st added to library...

should ended status get updated every 90 days?

 

manual metadata refresh on an individual show fixes.

It's because that refresh i think is only filling in missing data instead of replacing all, so i'll have to change it's behavior. That unfortunately means i'll also end up having to troubleshoot why users think their metadata is randomly changing.

An an option to REPLACE ALL, or just MISSING metadata.

There are only two possible statuses here, correct?

 

What if, we saved the value as null when a series is continuing and only filled in the value when it was ended.  IOW - the property would just be "Ended" at that point - but the server could translate a null value to the "Continuing" value so that no apps would need to change.

 

Then it would update without everything else having to change also.

 

Series like 24 or American Idol would have to be fixed up manually but that case should be very rare.

Standing up for for those who have libraries where all metadata is slaved to the provider - yes please

 

but even the naysayers would surely agree 'status' ended/continuing should get updated from internet provider?

this would be perfect!

replace all - replace all fields provided by provider - no need to overwrite  fields with nulls where the field is not included in source provider of course.
