Did the handling of Collection.xml change?

I'm using Emby Version 3.5.2.0 and having a problem with my collections.

 

I've always setup my collections by putting a collection.xml file in the base directory of the boxset. How ever now the collections aren't appearing anymore. They just appear as movies not as collections.

It's not so much that it changed, however this has been considered a legacy method for a long time and we're no longer testing it. What if you create a collection using the web interface? Does that show where you would expect?

I can try that but I literally have 100's of movies I'd need to manually create into box sets/collections and it would take forever. I used the collection.xml because things like auto box set don't work for what I'm doing. Any way to get the xml functionality back?

If you and other community members can help spot the issue then we're open to making quick fixes, but we just don't have the bandwidth to allocate development time towards this anymore. Thanks.

Also I tested making a collection out of one set of movies and it didn't appear under collections even though it appeared in the meta manager.

There is a issue where User-Access affects legacy Collections also.  If User does not have "Enable access to all libraries" enabled legacy Collections are not displayed only plugin boxsets.

Has any one complained after the recent update about Collections not showing in only one type device? My Collections show on Web Client, Windows 10 Emby Theater Client and Android phone but not my Roku Premiere+. Has anyone else seen that?

How were they working for you.  The only difference I see is the Library-Access issue.  Otherwise they work the same for me.  (majority created by MCM)

I have my folders setup like this.

 

D:\Box Sets\Box Set 1 (with three folders with three movies)

D:\Box Sets\Box Set 2 (with two folders with two movies)

D:\Box Sets\Box Set 3 (with five folders with five movies)

 

In each of the box set 1, 2, 3, etc etc folders there is a collection.xml file. Some are data in them, a lot of them are blank.

 

When I would click on box sets on my emby it would take me to collections and show me the collection. Now it shows me all the movies individually. Here are images of what I see now.

I have two seperate users with access to different libraries in my collection. With the way it is now, if I set my main user to access all libraries then the collections appear but I also get the massive collections I have that only the other user is suppose to be able to see.

I have two separate users setup each with access to their own parts of my libraries. For example

 

User 1 has access to libraries: 1, 2, 3, 6, 7

 

User 2 has access to libraries: 4 & 5

 

If I setup user 1 for example to have access to all libraries and I click on library 1 which is my box sets folder it show me the box sets/collections for library 1 and 4 even though library 4 isn't even listed in the box sets folder.... This latest update with what

ever user changes you guys made has screwed up my entire library. I keep everything neat and tidy. Box sets for user 1 are in the box set folder, movies are in the movies folder etc etc.

For legacy collections I'm not sure at this point. All issues with collections built using the web interface are resolved for the next release of emby server. thanks.
