moneycwq 2 Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 After the server is automatically upgraded, everything is messed up. In the previous version, I marked all the entire media database manually, but after the system was automatically upgraded to the latest 3.5.2, everything changed, and everything was messed up. For example, the documentary, I set it up so that I put different documentaries in their respective directories, and then all the documentaries are placed in a directory called a documentary. It can all be recognized. After the upgrade, it was inexplicably chaotic. For example, a season called 18, there are more than 10 documentaries that should be in different directories. Some files are placed in 2 different directories, but they are forced to be placed in the database. In a directory, this is 2 different documentaries. I can't even modify the changes, which makes me very upset. I want to know which directory in emby allows me to manually view and modify the content displayed in the database? And I modified a try to lock, obviously locked, but as long as the database is rescanned, the content changes, how does the lock not work? My documentary is set to TV content.I purchased a lifetime qualification
moneycwq 2 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 For example, a directory is a bBC-civilization, which contains two sub-directories, the first and second seasons of civilization. The other directory is China, which corresponds to 3 directories in the 3rd season, but there is a directory called 2 in the database, which mixes the documentaries of different contents of the five completely different directories of civilization and China. I hope to find a file. This file allows me to manually separate the two documentaries in different directories.
Luke 42078 Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 Hi there, I'm having a little trouble visualizing this. Can you please show a screenshot or two to demonstrate the issue? Thanks ! 1
moneycwq 2 Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 As you can see from the screenshot, the database has a 1 or 2 name with videos of different contents in different directories. There are even some videos with different content in different names and different names. I have such a name everywhere, which makes me very worried. My documentary chooses TV content, and the movie part also has some confusion, but it is much better than TV content.
Luke 42078 Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 How have you arranged your library in emby library setup? can i see that as well? thanks !
moneycwq 2 Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 I set the documentary and TV as TV content, and the movie is set to movie content. Then each media I download is placed in a separate directory of my own. The documentary seems to have no way to identify each media separately in the media library, so I used to manually set each media database and lock it. Normally, each media should be displayed according to the name of each directory. I only need to add a modification lock to the content corresponding to this name. The screenshot below is the library settings
Luke 42078 Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 So the folders directly under Discovery represent a series folder?
moneycwq 2 Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 Almost, for example, under Discovery, it is divided into historical geography, natural science and other catalogues. Then, in the natural sciences, there are many sharks, pandas, universes, etc., which belong to the same natural science documentary catalogue. The whole structure is similar to a tree. For example, there is a shark directory under the natural sciences, a shark.mkv under the shark directory, and a shark in the previous database. I just need to add some content manually. Now it’s like a 2 directory that brings together all the media in the natural sciences. So what should I do? Or is there any file that allows me to separate the mix?
moneycwq 2 Posted August 13, 2018 Author Posted August 13, 2018 So the folders directly under Discovery represent a series folder? 有合适的解决办法吗?Is there a suitable solution?
Luke 42078 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I think your best bet will be using the unset mixed content type rather than the TV content type. The TV content type is much more strict regarding supported folder structure and it may not be a good fit for your library. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
vaise 340 Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 You cant really use TV content for documentaries unless you go through and name them exactly for that - but many will not follow the TV logic. So, as Luke said, set them to something other thatn TV - I personally set mine to Home Videos & Photos content.

Mixed content may not be very good, I have set up mixed content, but it is still very confusing. It is possible to use only family photos and not scan at all, but I feel that there is a big gap. I suggest that emby should add an add-on library to documentaries, not just movies and TV.
Note: I have tested mixed content, there is the same problem, the new version is not as good as the old version. Can only be changed into family photos and videos, completely manual Edited August 15, 2018 by moneycwq

I use TV content for my documentaries and set them up as a tv series with the name of the documentary and then under that I put a season 1 folder and then the documentary is saved as name 1x01 name.filetype. NOt perfect, but it works well for my uses - I don't subdivide for documentary type etc.
vaise 340 Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 As I said 'unless you go through and name them exactly for that' That's a shed load of work if you ask me - Mine are easily found by the title - my docs are usually 1, 2 or 3 part - which I add to the title. If is a large documentary, like planet earth or something that is clearly a series, then it goes in my TV Shows library.

NOt perfect, but it works well for my uses - I don't subdivide for documentary type etc. I think emby's design in this part is flawed. Just to prevent what you said, I have set up a directory for each documentary in my Chinese. In theory, whether it is TV content or mixed content, I should display the directory in which I use Chinese in the media database. Then inside is the media file. So I just need to look at the Chinese directory to know what the documentary is, so I don't need to consider whether the file naming is in line with the rules. But the problem is that in this case, actually the media files in different directories are mixed together, I did not choose this option in the settings. So I think it is a mistake in programming. Because the old version can be well identified, the new version is only a problem. What's even more strange is that after setting the document catalogue after the TV content, there will be no recognition of this choice, like TV, movies will appear, I can manually select the recognition, and then correct. The documentary does not have this function at all, in fact, the program can have this option, and then identify it according to the directory name placed. Many documentaries are available on imdb, but I can't identify them at all. Because there is no such option. Edited August 15, 2018 by moneycwq

There are several different documentaries, such as Earth Weather, Earth Landscape, Ocean, etc., so that you can easily identify media files. But I think the program lacks the ability to recognize the content of the movie. Otherwise I can identify it manually, it would be better if the machine could automatically recognize it based on the directory name.

Surely recognising the content by directory name will be a nightmare, given what some TV programmes are called - that's why Emby uses the name to check against the online databases (tvdb etc)...
Luke 42078 Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 The first thing I would look at is folder structure. Have you compared our supported tv folder structures to what you're using? You can learn more by checking out our tv naming wiki: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/TV%20naming Thanks.

You can learn more by checking out our tv naming wiki: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/TV%20naming Thanks. The problem now is that the media database puts a dozen files in completely different directories under a metadata named Season 2, so I open this season 2, showing a variety of different media, and these media are not at all Coherent. I basically follow the naming rules, but I only use Chinese.
Luke 42078 Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 But it looks like you have a nested folder structure with additional plain folder layers, is that correct?
moneycwq 2 Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 But it looks like you have a nested folder structure with additional plain folder layers, is that correct? Only the home directory is a normal folder, the following subdirectories are normal.
moneycwq 2 Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 你的意思是什么? what should I do? How can I have the correct display?I want to know if there are any manual adjustment methods or specific file modifications, so that I can display them normally?
