Rick1971 0 Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 I am thinking about getting the lifetime premium membership for Emby but I need to know if the channel guide will give me the lineup for the week or weeks I currently have a dual tuner in my computer but need to channel guide to make it mor "prime time"
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 yes - in your control how many days your guide has data for - also depends on your EPG providers supplied data
Rick1971 0 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 (edited) ok would this only apply if I build/had a computer dedicated as my server? or can I buy a HDHomerun and use it in conjunction with my Terramaster NAS the Terramaster is a little box with my HDDs in it and it is not upgradable with hardware so I can't install a TV tuner in it or do I need to build a dedicated PC and install my TV tuner in it (I do have a PCI TV tuner in my main computer) I would much rather buy a HDHomerun and intergrate it if possible Edited August 6, 2018 by Rick1971
Guest asrequested Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 The HDHomerun devices just need to be on your network, so the server can see them.
Rick1971 0 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 that is easy enough, so then it will intergrate into my Emby interface and utilize the guide and record to my HDDs?
Guest asrequested Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 You'll need to use a guide provider for the information, but yes, the server will be able to use the tuners, natively.
Rick1971 0 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 cool, but most importantly, will it record to my HDDs? back in the early 90s I worked for Circuit City we sold Tivo (very new company at the time) and Replay TV much like Tivo but no sunscription needed to DVR OTA programs as it had a bult in HDD I don't want to pay a subscriptiuon to HdHomerun service to record my stuff I want it stored locally on my HDDs
Guest asrequested Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 The server will have DVR capability. Yes, you will be able to record to your hard drive(s)
Rick1971 0 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 excellent news, thanks for all your help
