Uninstall doesn't fully remove

When I uninstall MB3 server the app still shows in the uninstall programs list on Windows Server 2012.  I have to uninstall it again then it says it can't find it and removes it.  Plus the MB config icon still resides on the desktop.  Isn't removed.

That is a common issue with windows uninstallers.  Sometimes the list simply doesn't refresh once the uninstall is complete.  If you had hit the refresh icon instead of trying to uninstall again, it would have disappeared from the list as well.

The server install doesn't create any desktop icons.

That's probably the Classic side on Windows 7 that the desktop icon stuck around for.  Noticed it leaves all the config stuff behind as well per profile on the Win 7 box and doesn't delete that either.  Maybe by design, I just hate all the stuff that is left behind in Windows and like to minimize it.

MBC leaves behind all config information because every update amounts to an uninstall and a re-install.

Is there any way to make it so it doesn't remove the icon when updating?  I keep MBC and MBT pinned to the task bar in order to launch them from my harmony remote using the win + 1, win + 2 commands but on every update the MBC icon is removed and I have to drag it back.

I don't think so.  As I said, every update actually consists of an uninstall and re-install so your link is broken for the time between those operations.

You could create an image and point your shortcut to that image for its icon and then it wouldn't be affected by that.
