Right thought I'd try installing emby server on a nuc and retire my old server as 99% of my stuff direct plays.

So 7i5 nuc 16GB ram & 256GB hard disk.  Installed ubuntu 18.04 lts on it no problem ran sudo apt update and upgrade straight after so bang up to date.  Set up nas share to be auto mounted in fstab again no problems.  Set up a single user "emby" who is in the sudoers group.  Downloaded the latest ubuntu version of the server 3.5.2.0 from the web site. and ran it using "sudo dpkg -i ...." and it didn't finish the install .  Halts with the following;

"dpkg:error processing package emby-server (--install):"

"  installed emby-server package post installation script sub process returned error exit status 8"

"Processing triggers for libc-bin (2.27-3ubuntu)  ....."

"Processing triggers for ureadahead (0-100.0_20)  ..."

"Errors were encountered while processing

  emby-server"

Any one any idea whats gone on?  I'm getting close to the limits of my newby-ish linux skillset.  Are there any logs anywhere to look at?

Thanks

Paul

@@Luke Blimey that was quick.

Not quite, there was a bit before about :

"Unpacking emby-server

Setting up emby-server (3,5,2,0)

usermod: user emby is currently used by process 1446"

and then the message.

Try not creating the emby user by yourself and let the package create it for you.
