widget100 8 Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 If I send a show to my DLNA TV from the Web App with subtitles off they still appear on the screen. If I play in the Web App or send to Chromecast the "off" dropdown is honoured.
Luke 42077 Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Hi there, can we please look at an example? Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
widget100 8 Posted July 28, 2018 Author Posted July 28, 2018 Sure, here's the log and a screenshot. I restarted the server, played the file and took the log straight away. Sent to DLNA from Firefox on this occcasion but same happens in Chrome. Send to Chromecast from Chrome and it's fine. Log1.txt
Luke 42077 Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 What's happening is the file is direct playing and your Dlna app sees the subtitles in the mkv file and decides to play them. You will need to use your remote control to turn off the subtitles. We could certainly solve this with transcoding to strip out the subtitles, but for most it's not a desirable solution.
widget100 8 Posted July 29, 2018 Author Posted July 29, 2018 Gotcha, thanks Luke. I'd tried the subtitle button on the TV but it said "unavailable" but I just found the off setting buried on a sub-menu. Only reason I'm doing it that way is because the Samsung E series app isn't great and half the files dont show up and it mangles folders but hey, I can't complain about you no longer supporting such an ancient set
