keil60610 0 Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 On the same machine as my server when I try to play a video I received this Playback Error. No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details. However on another machine that is on my home network I can play the video off the server. Another problem I have is the that the server does not recognize two new movies I put in a few days ago. I attached my emby server log. Any help would be appreciated. Luke 42080 Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Hi, the server is unable to start it's embedded ffmpeg.exe file: 2018-07-27 21:40:18.630 Error HttpServer: Error processing request\par \tab *** Error Report ***\par \tab Version: 3.5.1.0\par \tab Command line: C:\\Users\\Keil\\AppData\\Roaming\\MediaBrowser-Server\\system\\EmbyServer.dll\par \tab Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0\par \tab 64-Bit OS: True\par \tab 64-Bit Process: True\par \tab User Interactive: True\par \tab Processor count: 4\par \tab Program data path: C:\\Users\\Keil\\AppData\\Roaming\\MediaBrowser-Server\par \tab Application directory: C:\\Users\\Keil\\AppData\\Roaming\\MediaBrowser-Server\\system\par \tab System.Exception: Error starting ffmpeg\par Since you're on windows, what this most likely means is that you have anti-virus or security software that is either blocking with it, or has tampered with the contents of the installation folder. What I would suggest doing is configuring your security software to allow it, then install Emby Server again from the website on top of your existing installation, just to make sure all the required files are restored. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !
keil60610 0 Posted August 4, 2018 Author Posted August 4, 2018 I tried this and it did not work at all. Today I tried again and same error "Playback Error" I also have another error "convert media failed" with about 100 or so files showing that convert media failed. I have as a video card NVIDIA if that makes any difference. I was wondering if I should delete the server from my machine and reinstall it as all my content is stored in an attached NAS (WDEX4) deviced, Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Keil
Luke 42080 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Can you please tell us exactly what you tried? Thanks.
keil60610 0 Posted August 4, 2018 Author Posted August 4, 2018 I have Nortons. So first I opened the firewall and made sure Emby had access. Then I restarted the machine Then I went to Emby's website and downloaded the Server file. That did not work. Next I turned off the Anti-virus and the firewall. Redownloaded the server files Then restarted the machine It still did not work.
keil60610 0 Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 I turned off Nortons firewall and anti-virus
Luke 42080 Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Is there an ffmpeg.exe file under this directory? C:\\Users\\Keil\\AppData\\Roaming\\MediaBrowser-Server\\system
Luke 42080 Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Are you able to launch it? Also is windows fully up to date?
keil60610 0 Posted August 8, 2018 Author Posted August 8, 2018 Yes I am able to launch Emby but still the playback error. Also when I add new movies to the hard drive, these new movies are not added to the Emby library Yes my windows 10 pro is the latest version
maegibbons 1287 Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 So where you able to launch ffmpeg.exe like @@Luke asked? If ffmpeg cannot launch your problem will continue. Krs Mark
keil60610 0 Posted August 8, 2018 Author Posted August 8, 2018 I tried to launch ffmpeg.exe and it doesn't open. There is a box for a second and then nothing
Happy2Play 9782 Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I tried to launch ffmpeg.exe and it doesn't open. There is a box for a second and then nothing That is all that is going to happen if you try to launch ffmpeg.exe. It is a command line tool without a UI.
Luke 42080 Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Ok so you actually have a really old installation from a long time ago, back when we installed to the mediabrowser-server folder. I wonder if there might be some issues with installations still located inside that folder. First, i just want to say thank you for using Emby for all of these years ! Are you open to a fresh installation by any chance?
keil60610 0 Posted August 9, 2018 Author Posted August 9, 2018 Yes I am open to a fresh installation.
keil60610 0 Posted August 11, 2018 Author Posted August 11, 2018 I assume to do a fresh install I just delete Emby and Media Browser from my computer and then download the Sever file from the website. I'll try that tomorrow and let you know what happens. Keil
Luke 42080 Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Thanks. Please let us know how you get on. We're here to help.
