New Update Issues

It's been happening infrequently since i updated, but today is bad.  Often I have to restart the server because Navigation links take me to a blank area (Talking about in Chrome newest version).  Most often the Home button.  I click it, and the lower section of the server reloads to just a blank section.  Today Some of the Navigation links in My Media won't load into the library they are associated with.  no error, just no activity.  I click Movies, nothing happens.  I click TV Shows it works right away.  I restart the server, Movies works, TV Shows doesn't.  I restart again, they both work for awhile, then the home button loads to a blank screen again and I have to close chrome, ect.  It seems to be random.  Sometimes i'm in the dashboard, and navigation links just don't do anything, or load to a blank section.

Is there an error in the browser console when this happens?

Ok, everything seems to look OK there. You could try clearing browsing data and see if that makes any difference. thanks.

I did, even tried it on a fresh computer.  Still does it.  I made a quick screen grab video.  If i close Chrome and simply reopen the server, everything loads fine.  It happens when i go into the dashboard and then click the home button.

Rebooted emby for clean log.  Opened emby, went to dashboard, confirmed it does the same thing as what i showed you when i click home, copied the log after that.

hey thekingswolf I was experiencing this issue as you video'd it. I just cleared cache, files and browsing history in Chrome. Set display resolution lower to (2560 x 1440) and no more sluggishness for the past 15 minutes. It was pretty bad for me occurring every other time I clicked something the button would either not work or take me to a blank page.

You could also try removing  your installed plugins to see if that has any impact. Thanks.

i'm stuck switching to IE for a lot of things and I hate it.    For example I was unable to look at my library settings to answer your question from the other thread because clicking the 3dots does nothing, menu's like that don't work in Chrome anymore I have to use IE

That's strange then. I will keep testing to see if i can hunt this down.

I do IT work for a living, and on occasion I have run into strange problems with browsers such as what you are describing.  Standard uninstall/reinstall doesn't work, so what you might want to do is  uninstall Chrome, reboot, then (assuming you are somewhat tech savvy) you need to hunt down the bits and pieces of the browser that are inevitably left behind in the file system and registry and delete them.  Enable viewing of hidden/system files and look in the \ProgramData and user \Appdata folders.  Once you remove all traces of the program then re-install it and see if the problem goes away.

This would be my be my next suggestion unless this same thing happens on another machine.

One other thing to try is to turn OFF hardware acceleration in Chrome and see if it makes a difference (in settings, search for HARDWARE).  If it does make a difference, I would suspect the video driver.  Sometimes a previous version of the video driver works better than the latest version (or one provided by Microsoft).
