drewdenman 4 Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 (edited) None of my Nvidia Shield TVs are connecting to the Emby server. Literally nothing about my home network/server has changed. Only thing that changed was trying to get the Kodi4Emby addon to work on the new Nvidia Shield TV Update (see thread here). I can't even get the Shields to connect using the Emby Android TV app, but I can use the same IP/Port and connect via app.emby.media on other PC's inside the home. Link to gallery detailing my issue. I am honestly at a loss here and have no idea what is going on. Edited July 22, 2018 by drewdenman
Luke 42079 Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Hi there, thank for the report. We'll see what @@ebr thinks when he's online and sees this. Thanks.
ebr 16184 Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Hi. That looks to me like you've maybe installed the mobile app on your Shield. Please make sure you are installing the app named "Emby for Android TV" (and the icon also says "Android TV" on it).

Please make sure you are installing the app named "Emby for Android TV" (and the icon also says "Android TV" on it). It's Emby for Android TV that is installed. Also won't connect inside Kodi with Kodi4Emby addon with same IP/Port. My Shields all connect to the internet just fine and connections are fine on them. I stream Playstation Vue on them no issues and just watched F1 on ESPN app this morning with no issues.
ebr 16184 Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Okay, all the screen shots you showed were from Kodi, not our Android TV app so I'm not sure exactly where it is going wrong. But, the fact that Kodi also cannot connect definitely indicates a general network issue.

All screenshots in my OP were from the Emby for Android TV app. The only Emby 4 Kodi screenshot was in the last before this one.
maegibbons 1287 Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 You say you can connect via app.emby.media from PC. Can you connect directly in browser to: http://192.168.7.37:10010 Using the direct web interface? Krs Mark
ebr 16184 Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 None of the images here are from our Android TV app. Its manual connect to server dialog looks like this: But, in any case, this doesn't appear to be an app-related problem. Seems to be related to the network connection on the Shield.
drewdenman 4 Posted July 22, 2018 Author Posted July 22, 2018 (edited) You can close this post. I have a couple other things I want to run before I give up. Edited July 22, 2018 by drewdenman
