Playback of RecordedTv

Hi have a problem trying to playback my recorded tv from wmc via theater

I use the wmcserver  app and it appears to work fine withe emby server well

all the live tv actions work well

I may have missed something within the setup

I am able to see the files for playing and the server attempts to play files with no luck

I looked around the forum with no real answer that is obvious to me

so I am thinking if I upload  my logs someone might know what is going on.

there is multiple ffmpeg-transcode files I thought one would be all you may need

Hi I  use the windows desktop Emby theater version 3.0.1 also I use dashboard entry via Firefox Quantum ver 61.0.1 I access the livetv  Recordings content from the dashboard home button which lists all the recorded tv from serverWMC
I have tried the play the content from here and does not play the status thingo turns and turns I have to force an exit back to the main dashboard  to terminate this playing process and the logs that I provided are from that the same thing occurs in theater

I have attached imgs to this post these imgs are generated from a new session but only show how

I also have noticed a download button in the latest recordings not really sure if this could be related  to my issue.

any insight would appreciated.

Hi

I have found a answer

I had to give the user access to Library Access to Recordings

the user already had access to Channels ServerWMC Recordings which appears not to be enough

I am able to watch the content now

sorry i thought when I originally setup ServerWMC Recordings that would fine.

Many thanks for your taking a look in the beginning

doing the screen captures alerted my attention to the download button which somehow gave an answer

I must say the setting up of ServerWMC has troubled me for sometime getting it all to work together lots of searching forums for simple answers

it can be a beast I am going to try and write up a how to for serverWMC this might be a bigger beast but I will try it on my ToDO list now

There is currently a problem with playback of recordings via the server wmc plugin. I will have to work with the plugin developer in order to resolve it. The plugin needs an update. You can follow this issue here:

In the meantime, the simplest workaround is to add your recordings folder as a regular emby library and just play them that way. That will work just fine.

Also what kind of tuner do you have?

Hi again thanks again for the support

the tuner I use with WMC is WinFast DTV 2000 DS is use two of these cards

and they have been very good over the years

Windows 8.1 with WMC however the whole setup needs looking at real soon

its had many new power supplies and yearly clean outs.

One thing I can say about WMC it was written well at the time and performs well

its a  pity it not open source

I have been thinking about Kodi for sometime now just need to make a transition box and see if can perform

as well as WMC I have my doubts

Livetv with Emby is very new has to grow just like media browser did

I remember the start and where Emby is now

who would have thought of a single program hooked into WMC to a multi platform server 

again I say thanks and very thankful for what we as a community have achieved

Hi, please don't consider this a reflection of Emby Live TV. It is just a little quirky when utilizing a plugin such as ServerWMC because of the complexity involved in interfacing with an entirely separate software package.

 

But if for example you had an HD Homerun, then you could use Emby Live TV directly without ServerWMC and you'd have a much better experience. Thanks.

FYI,  you can also use any enigma2 set top box with andy blac's excellent HDHRTuner proxy addon to replicate the functionailty of an HD Homerun box.

It looks like I may have to do a little research on how to go forward

there seems to be new ideas around these days
