Is the left pane supposed to be black? It looks terrible.

To be honest I didn't really have a chance to test this theme with the dashboard. I'll look at it when I can, although it might make sense to reduce the number of dashboard choices.

For the dashboard, I like Blue Radiance and Media center

It's not a plugin. It's a theme. In the web app, click the user icon in the top right corner, then display. You'll see the options for 'Theme' and 'Server dashboard theme'
