Grimshad 4 Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 The question is basically: If I have a Plex server running right now and I setup an Emby server and tell it to read from the same library, what will Emby actually do to my libarary? will it add files/metadata? Will it interfere with my plex streaming? Will it mess up my structure or otherwise change anything to my existing library? I'd like to try Emby, but i don't want it messing with my existing library or messing anything up and I don't want to create a separate library just for it at this time.
Luke 42085 Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 Emby will only save files in your local media directories if you configure it to do so. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
Solution maegibbons 1287 Posted July 16, 2018 Solution Posted July 16, 2018 To expand. By default it has absolutely NO impact on your media directories. So you can try it without harming your underlying media. Krs Mark 2
