Lawrage 13 Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Hi all, I have an anime movie file that wont play in the Emby Shield client. Its a h264 10bit 1080p mkv file with 5.1 FLAC audio. Logs are attached and I submitted a log through the shield app at the same time. Anything you can recommend I look into? Off topic for this however but is there a better format I can look into to help files play more consistently. Thanks. John.

ebr 16185 Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 Hi. 10-bit h264 is not going to be very widely supported but try turning off quicksync on your server.
Lawrage 13 Posted July 18, 2018 Author Posted July 18, 2018 The file was not playing with Quicksync on or off. Thanks ebr, I wasnt aware that there was 10bit issues, good to know as in future I will not use these files. I have converted the file to h265 and will load it in tonight and give it a test.
Luke 42080 Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Well it may have originated as 10-bit, but it should play OK with transcoding. I think the issue is that with burning in subtitles, your system just can't do that fast enough. Try turning off the subtitles, and/or acquiring external text subtitles using our subtitle download feature.
Lawrage 13 Posted July 21, 2018 Author Posted July 21, 2018 Re-encoded it without the 10bit (same FLAC audio) and its working fine now, no issues. Thanks.
