After installing the Backup plugin - my Emby server won't start

I think I have lost my server that I only just got working yesterday.  After having a lot of trouble setting up my m3u channels for some reason, I unstalled and started fresh yesterday.  Got all my live TV channels mapped to the Schedules Direct EPG and wanted to make a backup before something went south.

So today I installed the backup plugin, restarted the server and that was the last I saw of my server; I could not connect to the dashboard or do anything with the server.  So I renamed the Backup plugin.dll assuming that was the culprit and tried to reinstall Emby.  Reinstall pops up this error;

I assume I have to uninstall completely again.  Emby is starting to look like an awful lot of work to maintain after only 2 days...

Hi.  It looks like you either have a permissions problem in the OS or something is open/running and  holding a lock on that folder.

Try rebooting the machine.

Thanks for the advice (before I uninstalled again).  Seems to be running ok now after a reboot.

I still need to backup as I am considering relocating my server to another machine.  Is the "Server Configuration Backup" plugin a solid option for config backup?  I really only want to save my channel mapping as that is a long and painful process.

The wiki suggests the "Emby Backup Plugin" but I see no such plugin in the catalog.

They are one and the same, and yes it can help you with this.

Hi

For you as well, you might like to locate the config directory in the programdata folder under the emby server root.

In there is a file called livetv.xml which contains details of your current mappings.

It is possible to edit this file directly - if you know what you are doing.

Also it is possible to "automap"  channels to shedules direct WITHIN the m3u using the tvg-id tag.  Do a search on IPTV and m3u in the forums as i have written about this before elsewhere.

That message references a Server Update not a plugin update.  What server version number are you on.

@@Happy2Play - I'm on the current version - just installed it yesterday (3.4.1.0)

@maegibbons - Thanks, I found your post already today and was quite happy the way the mapping worked once I edited the channel numbers.  I'm not sure what to do when the stream/channel I want to add to Emby is not offered by the schedule provider I have chosen, but this is a minor issue for me right now.
