Dolby TruHD audio dropouts - Nvidia Shield 4k HDR

Anyone else having issues with playing 4K H265 (mkv)  files with Dolby TruHD sound.

I have the shield hooked up to my Denon Receiver. Passes 4k and TruHD to the TV.

Stats for Nerds verifies that I am direct playing (no transcoding)

Playing large 80gig MKV over my gigabit network from My Mac Hard Drive (SSD) Old school Spinner HD and my NAS.

No matter where I play from, i get audio drop outs at random times during the movie. I have even rewound to make sure they werent all happening at the same time, but its completely random.

I switch to the other audio stream (dolby digital) and it plays fine.

I then test this same file within Kodi, and it plays fine from the same NAS. No audio drop outs at all while in Dolby TruHD.

Is there a Emby setting I need to check to stop these drop outs? Any fix in sight? Def annoying.

Thanks to all.....

There is another thread someplace describing something similar. I think the issue in that cased ended up being due to the ethernet port, trying using wifi as a test and see if the issue still exists.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Would seem strange that it would be the ethernet jack as this plays fine in Kodi with the exact same set up. But, I tried it anyway.. and same issue.

Random times, small glitches in the audio on when playing Dolby TruHd.

Anymore thoughts?

Could be Oreo related too as it seemed to have introduced a few quicks that are still being ironed out. I don't have my Shield TV hooked up to a 4K/HD audio setup at the moment so I can't really test myself at the moment

Let me know if you get it set up, and you can test this for me...

Thanks!

I have my Shield connected directly to my Atmos soundbar and then from the soundbar to my 4K TV and I don't get any dropouts.

I know it doesn't help your situation, but I've watched several 4K Disc Rips (mkv) with the latest Shield update on 3 different Shields and haven't experienced any dropouts.  I started the other thread mentioned and can confirm that when I go wired in the new OS, I still have intermittent audio drops, just like before, but Wireless AC continues to be flawless on all 3 Shields.

Also should add, one is hooked to a Marantz SR7010, one is hooked to a Denon (can't recall the model number but it was either the same year or one year newer than the Marantz), and the other is hooked directly to a TV.  All direct play, none have had issues post-update.

I will check again, and make sure i hook up to the 5g network...

I really have no clue why being wired would cause this issue, when it works fine via plex and kodi? Im truly stumped.

UPDATE:

Turned off Ethernet, and hooked up to 5g Network. Most of the dropouts went away. Still had a few, but not nearly as many as when I was hooked up to my gig ethernet.

Very Strange.

Is anyone working on this issue?

I believe NVidia has acknowledged it as an issue.
