AdrianW 1058 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Server: 3.0.5203.42049 MBC: 3.0.148.0 3-31.1 I added a new episode of a show (episode S01E21 of Mom) via metabrowser (which does sorting, naming and metadata fetching for me) but I also have metadata switched on in MBS as well as "Save artwork and metadata within media folders" - although I don't think this is the cause of the issue here. After the episode was placed in the season folder and metadata fetched, I initiated an MBS "Scan Media Library" (just to make sure MBC could see it when I sat down to watch some TV). In MBC the episode showed up on the EHS: When entering into the EHS item, the current episode (21) and the previous two unwatched episodes appear: This is fine so far - but if I drill down into TV, find the show, and enter into the season - the new episode is missing: I've since run the "Scan Media Library" task twice and the episode still didn't show up and also it didn't appear on the server either. But, some time later it has appeared - this was quite some time after the scan had completed (many minutes, and about 90 minutes since I I watched the episode via MBC EHS). A similar thing happened with the two How I Met Your Mother episodes today - I could see them from the EHS but not by drilling down into the season.
ebr 16178 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 If you say that the episode also didn't appear on the server then this must be something related to server discovery of the item. Had you restarted MBC or was it running the whole time this new item was added? Having both MetaBrowser and us trying to create and save metadata to the media folders is probably a bad idea though.
AdrianW 1058 Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 I usually leave Media Center at it's main menu - so MBC wasn't running when the media was added. I also tried MBC later on my regular PC (that's where I grabbed the screenshots) and the same situation was happening there. I'll try switching off MB3 metadata for now and see if that improves things. I've only just put MB3 into the lounge room and today is probably the first day we were watching brand new content so soon after adding it. It did seem strange that the EHS picked it up before the MBS could see it.
ebr 16178 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 If it happens again if you can confirm it is behaving the same way in the web client then we can move this topic and bring it to Luke's attention.
Sharmy 9 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Behaviour is the same on the web client. Can post images if necessary.
AdrianW 1058 Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 I turned off MB3 metadata fetching and saving yesterday - and today I added a few more episodes and didn't get the issue. I wonder if @@Sharmy is using a third party metadata fetcher as well. I'll keep an eye on this over the next few days to see if it happens again with my setup.
Sharmy 9 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) No 3rd party metadata fetcher in use - all handled by Media Browser. Interestingly new episodes appear in the latest section on the EHS but not in other views. Will post photos once I figure out how to upload them here. Apologies for poor quality images: Library view - Series (White titles indicate unwatched episodes) Library view - Episodes (no unwatched episodes shown) Same behaviour in Web Client Web Client - Series Web Client - Seasons: Web Client - Episodes: Behviour is totally different from EHS: EHS - Episodes: Edited April 3, 2014 by Sharmy
AdrianW 1058 Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 I find the easiest way to do screenshots is to simply use the microsoft snipping tool and then paste it directly to imgur and copy the "direct link" from there.
