Opensubtitles not working

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello yet again!

I entered my opensubtitles credentials in the opensubtitle settings and have enabled it in the list & chosen my preferred language. I have also removed any options that limit the chances of a subtitle shown as you can see.

I haven't checked yet about any automatic setting but when I click edit subtitles on a media file, it shows my preferred language. Clicking search shows no results even on extremely popular files.

From what I 've seen in the logs even with debug on, there is absolutely no call to their api.

I might be missing something but read most similar threads and I think I covered most mistakes I could have done.

I don't see any search attempts on opebsubtitles in this log. Perhaps you just didn't wait for the subtitle download scheduled task to run?

Wouldn't clicking on the file -> edit subtitles and pressing search force that? If not could you point me to how I can force the task to run?

Yes, clicking Edit Subtitles, then search will hit their api every time. That makes it sound as if you didn't actually save the credentials.

Also, movies must have an Imdb id defined in Emby. Episodes must have a season and episode number.

Found what was wrong. First of all it was a series. The problem was the file wasn't inside a folder. I was finding it from the "Latest TV Shows" and it seems it's ignored then. Moment I moved the files inside a folder, updated library and started the the task, all files got subtitles!

Thanks for the feedback.

So it's impossible to have some media randomly in the top dir? Everything must be in their own dir or at worse a dir for random files?

Also as far as I saw in the task settings, it's impossible to check for subtitles on new file discovery? since the library has an option for real-time file addition.

Currently our tv libraries require series folders for each series. A mish mash folder is something we plan to accommodate in the future. thanks.
