marcinsko 0 Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 I have a problem with subtitles, I can watch movies from my synology nas when subtitles are off, If I turned them on emby server start transcoding and as it is a nas it is to weak to process. I Have Kodi 18 alpha 3 with embycon and that combo is working perfectly I can browse lib all looks good but I want to support dev and use Emby theater on Xbox abut as long as it will try to transcode simple sub in srt format I need to use Kodi. My library in Emby server like that: Show advanced settings Folders add /volume1/video/Family Movies nfs://192.168.0.250/volume1/video/Family Movies So in Kodi with embycon sub are perfectly playble, On Emby theater are not as they force the server to transcode why? I have attached log files and transcoding logs. I only found out that mostly it is happening with h.265 and h.264 with opus sounds. Cheers Transcode1.txt Transcode2.txt Transcode3.txt
Luke 42079 Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Hi, in transcodelog1 you activated pgs subtitles. This subtitle format is not supported by Xbox One and therefore is burned in with server transcoding. Does this answer your question?
marcinsko 0 Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 Partially Yes, however when I turned off subtitle the video still is transcoded. Is it the audio codec fault which is opus in that case? I have another file in the same format with opus audio which does not play?
Luke 42079 Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 I would need to see a log example from that. Thanks.
marcinsko 0 Posted July 9, 2018 Author Posted July 9, 2018 Ok, I have attached server log, and files which are transcoded (I worked out that opus audio code and acc 7.1 make the problem, probably). File spider is the log with the movie that is remux which struggle to pay as well. I have the server installed on Synology ds216play. I like direct play, thanks to you Luke I learned that subtitles (srt, txt) works ok so I will stick to them. One thing which emby lacks is the feature where you can adjust sync of subtitles which sometimes a few seconds out ( Kodi has this feature works very well). But still, I like emby theater more just still space for improvement ;-). Cheers ServerLog.txt Black.txt Pirates.txt TrueDetective.txt Spider.txt
Luke 42079 Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Does Xbox One support opus? I don't think it does and that's why we have to remux in order to convert the audio: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/apps/mkv-support
marcinsko 0 Posted July 9, 2018 Author Posted July 9, 2018 Oh yeah, that is true, explained. So Xbox still Kodi and Emby server are best option to play everything. Thank you for your help. I learn something new as well to check logs carefully ;-). Cheers
