roberthleeii 61 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Is there a way to play Blu-ray disks without purchasing software. I do not have a blue ray player just a Blu-ray drive in my new computer. I have a couple of combo packs and able to rip the disk to a folder on my HDD with dvdfab and then use handbrake to create my mp4. My problem is I can't play the disk or folder to know what title to burn. The one I have done I just picked the longest title. If I buy a TV show I wont know what episodes are witch. I was surprised to fond that vlc could not play the folder after I ripped it. That is what I use when I rip my DVDs. Any help would be appreciated.
shaefurr 1340 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I dont think there's any free blu-ray playing software, at least not that ive seen. VLC and such dont support it
AdrianW 1058 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 For ripping TV shows, the easiest and quickest solution would be to use MakeMKV.
Tikuf 663 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Think you will find that vlc does support bd playback Not sure on the commandline to bring it up tho (i know it will be in the vlc forum)
SaraJoshion 0 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) To play blu-ray discs, you can download Macgo Blu-ray Player, which is a commercial Blu-ray Player, but you can also use it free, with watermark in the screen. As I know, this player has two version, Mac and Windows, you can download the wanted version. http://download.cnet.com/Macgo-Windows-Blu-ray-Player/3000-13632_4-75453680.html (for Windows) http://download.cnet.com/Macgo-Mac-Blu-ray-Player/3000-13632_4-75453324.html (for Mac) Edited December 19, 2014 by SaraJoshion
