ThorvinRhuebarb 0 Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 I recently updated the emby app on the smart TV (LG UJ6200) to a new version to stop the update nags. It updated to version 1.0.8. After updating when launching the app, you are prompted to select a profile and the remote allows you to do so. At that point everything breaks. The app loads and you can see the header info with the selected user profile, but no content loads and the remote does nothing within the app... You cannot select any of the visible header information or anything. (the other remote functions work and you can launch other apps). I have rebooted the emby server (which works fine from the web interfaces on my laptop). I have uninstalled the app rebooted the TV and reinstalled the app (only 1.0.8 is available) all with no avail. I can't revert to an older version, and the wife is upset that TV is broken. Any thoughts to keep me from sleeping on the couch?

ThorvinRhuebarb 0 Posted July 7, 2018 Author Posted July 7, 2018 (edited) I already uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled as I stated in the original post.If you think it is helpful I can post a screenshot, but it is similar to the one Stunami69 posted.Mine has a larger list of categories, and shows a specific user logged in, but otherwise the same. (the selected category in my instance is labeled "books" and is not empty but shows no content) When uninstalilng/reinstalling and rebooting the server and the TV the app will request you to select a profile upon first launch. You can perform this action with the remote, however once completing it, the screen described above loads, but completely non-responsive from the remote. I have tried multiple profiles upon the initial launch, however the behavior is the same. Rebooting the TV just causes it to go instantly to the non-responsive screen upon selecting the app. The TV itself is not locked up, I can select other apps and navigate them properly with the remote. Browsing trough library takes 3 sec. for every click , so to move right click on remote right and need to wait about 3 sec. for selection to move... when press ok to play something it takes also around 5 - 10 sec. before it start playing .... Playback is ok... I used to use Plex, and have life time Plex Pass, but found Emby and fell in love with it... I really hope app for webos LG TV became usable so i can pay for life time license for Emby to... This is for me show stopper... so please if possible fix it... I was hesitant to update but I did anyways against my better judgement and now the remote won't work once the app launches. Tried uninstalling, turning off tv, reinstalling to no avail. I resorted to using the old Screenplay app for now until it's fixed.
