djhifi 56 Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 (edited) OK I have 3 quick questions 1 - If I have "metadata savers" option turned "on" for Movies and the .NFOs in those media folders, if I choose to rebuild my database, Emby automatically uses those .nfos or should I enable some ticker prior to that? 2 - When I remove any given path from the "Library" section, all its metadata (namely images) is deleted from wherever I'm storing it? (In this case I have centralized metadata for images) or should I run a database scan for the server to be able to delete those things? 3 - What is the proper action selecting "replace all metadata" option triggers? I've searched the wiki and found no info for those 3 options "scan for new and updated files", "search for missing metadata" and the one I question. It confuses me a bit and I don't understand if this is linked with the point 1 or 2 that I questioned above? Thanks Edited July 3, 2018 by djhifi
Luke 42077 Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 #1 - yes #2 - it's generally a good idea to run a library scan after doing that. 1
djhifi 56 Posted July 6, 2018 Author Posted July 6, 2018 #1 - yes #2 - it's generally a good idea to run a library scan after doing that. Thanks. Regarding number 2, when I run that library scan after removing either a single movie or an entire path, emby server deletes metadata from where I have it and also entries from the library.db then? Or only when I "VACUUM" it?
Luke 42077 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Yes it should. But based on your question I think you are misunderstanding what vacuum does. 1
