clarkss12 304 Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Kept seeing that thumbnail about Camera Uploads, but had no idea how it worked??? My simple little mind could not grasp the idea of my photos and videos taken with my camera to mysteriously appear in my Emby Clients. For days, weeks, months, years, and decades, I kept watching and clicking on that Camera Uploads thumbnail, but nothing ever showed up. Ok, finally figured there MUST be something that I HAD to on my end, so I started to search on this forum, but not nothing I found really helped. Hummm.. after banging my head against the wall (now I have to patch the wall), I saw that there was a """"HELP"""" button on the configuration screen. Does ANYONE really use those *** HELP *** screen?? After reading the *** HELP *** a few times, it finally dawned on me that I HAD to do SOMETHING to make the magic to work, but What?? Then I read this part... "Enabling Camera Upload To enable camera upload for an Emby app, you'll need to first enable it within the app's settings menu." Ok, I went into the Emby "Camera Upload" app setting on my Cellular phone and enabled it. Went back to my Emby client but nothing in the folder, hummm..... instructions tooooo simple, something must be missing...... I was ASSUMING that that thumbnail would populate immediately, but it did't. Anyway after reading and going over the instructions a few more times, I was ready to give up. THEN, after some time past, I clicked on the "Camera Uploads" thumbnail again, and there was some photos......... My heart was pounding really fast as I saw those pictures show up in my EMBY client. This morning, when I got up and checked my EMBY client, it has all of my photos and videos that I had taken on my phone. I got down on my knees and thanked allah.......... BTW, I did change the upload storage location on my server.......... awesome. Thanks for this awesome addon........

I always had to jump through hoops to get the media from my phone to my computer or NAS, but this really simplifies this process. I am waiting for it to make my coffee and clean my house, possibilities are endless.

Thx Open the android app, go to settings, right there on that page: (6th from the top) "Camera Upload" from there select which server to upload to. In the servers dashboard there are settings to set a custom file path for those uploads but disappointingly there does not appear to be a way to prevent a user from uploading his/her stuff or even disable camera upload at all.
