hstamas 179 Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 With the introduction of the convert feature taking the place of on the fly converting I was wondering if this post process task recognizes if the video is already in a comparable format but might just need remixing to a different container? Comcast in my area has started broadcasting most HD channels in h264 and was hoping Emby was smart enough to just change the container from .TS to .MKV or .MP4 for example.
Luke 42077 Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Hi, we don't recommend using this. In the latest release of Emby Server this feature has been replaced by a new conversion feature that converts after the recording has completed. Recording after will produce a much more reliable video file. Thanks.
hstamas 179 Posted June 24, 2018 Author Posted June 24, 2018 Correct. That’s the feature I’m referring to Luke. Will the new convert feature recognize compatible stream components and leave them untouched when possible? Remux instead of re-encode?
