EarlyCuyler 1 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Instructed to start a new post here per this thread: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/60008-roku-tv-stuck-on-welcome-to-emby/ Roku build is 8.0.0.4184 Emby on Roku is showing 3.0.84 Emby Server Version 3.4.1.18 beta I have the same issue as the other post. When I click on the server in the Roku channel, it just stops and never loads. I installed the channel via the Roku webstore and from in the Roku itself. Does the same thing either way I install it. I even reinstalled the server to the beta version. No change. 1
ebr 16169 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 When I click on the server in the Roku channel, it just stops and never loads. That is different from what is described in the other thread which is why I asked to create this thread. The other said it was after logging in with a user and it was traced to their firmware version (which is different from yours). Exactly what do you see on the screen when this happens? You never get the list of users?
EarlyCuyler 1 Posted June 21, 2018 Author Posted June 21, 2018 (edited) I get to the select a server screen, pick mine, then pick my screen name, then it freezes. Edited June 21, 2018 by EarlyCuyler
speechles 2055 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 (edited) https://my.roku.com/account/add?channel=EmbyBlueNeon Add the above to your roku. Once you do can you log in within the blue neon app or does it give an error of some kind? EDiT: forgot to add, you must log into the roku website for the link to work, once you login to the website it will redirect you to the correct app. After you do add the channel. It will say wait 24 hours, blah blah.. Don't wait, go to settings and do the system update on your roku and it will pull the channel down immediately. Edited June 21, 2018 by speechles
ebr 16169 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 I get to the select a server screen, pick mine, then pick my screen name, then it freezes. Exactly what do you see when it "freezes"?
EarlyCuyler 1 Posted June 22, 2018 Author Posted June 22, 2018 Exactly what do you see when it "freezes"? The loading wheel shows up and doesn't move at all. It never does anything. I'll try installing the other channel when I get home tomorrow.
ebr 16169 Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Okay, so that is different as well as, with the firmware issue, the wheel continues spinning. So, more than likely, your app is crashing for some reason. We just have to figure out the reason.
EarlyCuyler 1 Posted June 23, 2018 Author Posted June 23, 2018 Well, I figured it out. Had to open the port. Didn't realize you can't do live channels without Premiere though. So guess I have to use that now. Thanks for your help guy.
ebr 16169 Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Hmmm... Which port? If you were getting as far as seeing a list of users it seems connectivity was already good. I'd like to figure out exactly what was going wrong so we can make the app react better. Thanks.
EarlyCuyler 1 Posted June 24, 2018 Author Posted June 24, 2018 It was port 8096. When I opened it in my router it worked fine.
ebr 16169 Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Was this Roku on the same network as the server or no?
ebr 16169 Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 I'm wondering if it was some sort of reset on your router that actually fixed the problem. From within your LAN, the port mapping shouldn't be a factor.
BorgSquared 2 Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 (edited) I am having the exact same issue. It started yesterday for reasons unknown. It only seems to affect my Rokus connected via ethernet but works fine on those using Wi-Fi. I installed the Blue Neon app and that one actually works but looks terrible. I am using server version 3.4.1.0 and app 3.0 build 84. Roku FW: 8.1.0 build 4131 After selecting a user from the login screen it gets stuck at welcome to emby. I checked the logs and there aren't any errors and it shows it has properly authenticated. Edit: The one that worked via Wi-Fi was the Roku 3. Apparently even after connecting to Wi-Fi with the Roku 2's it still doesn't work. So connection method doesn't have any effect after all. Log.txt Edited June 27, 2018 by BorgSquared
BorgSquared 2 Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 (edited) It does not mention a -29 in the system update page. So I assume the former is the correct answer. Edit: This is for the Roku 2 and the only ones not working. I haven't checked what FW the Roku 3 is running because it works fine. Edited June 28, 2018 by BorgSquared
BorgSquared 2 Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Sorry my mistake it is 4131-04. It turns out the system update page doesn't have the full build number. I should have been using the about page. Also, I am certain the issue arose due to the roku update after noticing the date of the latest update coincides with the start of the problem. I have tried using the special page to change from "release" to "stable" or rollback to an old version but it won't work. I cannot rollback or change the build channel.
