Diedrich 377 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 (edited) Why have we recently been getting a Watched status at low percentages? It should be at least 90%, in my opinion. Edited June 20, 2018 by Diedrich
CBers 7451 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Why have we recently been getting a Watched status at low percentages? It should be at least 90%, in my opinion. Change the settings in the PlayBack page in the Dashboard.
Diedrich 377 Posted June 20, 2018 Author Posted June 20, 2018 Change the settings in the PlayBack page in the Dashboard. Yup, I'm showing the same numbers as you 5/90/300, still got the Watched icon as pictured above.
Luke 42079 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 We'd need to look at a playback example using the information requested in post #2. Thanks.
ebr 16184 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Was this an Emby recording that you started watching while in-progress?
Diedrich 377 Posted June 21, 2018 Author Posted June 21, 2018 Was this an Emby recording that you started watching while in-progress?Nope. I’ll attempt to replicate and send the logs when I get a chance. It was played on Windows Theater stand-alone client, btw.
Diedrich 377 Posted June 22, 2018 Author Posted June 22, 2018 (edited) Please see how to report a problem. thanks !wW Server log PM'd. First, I changed the Watched threshold to something other than what was listed. I saved. I then put 90 back in as the threshold and saved again, hoping to force an overwrite in the settings in case something got screwed up somehow. I watched two shows; Legion and The Expanse. During Legion, I paused the show and backed out to the episode page (Windows Theater standalone client) several times trying to get it to record the show as Watched. Everything was normal and worked as expected. I then started watching The Expanse, I only paused it once (22 minutes out of 42 minutes) and received the Watched status indication. Clearly not correct. I then immediately grabbed the server log. Edited June 22, 2018 by Diedrich
Waldonnis 148 Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 I'm wondering if there's a timestamp discontinuity in the episode of The Expanse, which causes some players/probes to read the file as having a shorter duration than is actually present. Any chance you can post the media info for it? If there is a discontinuity causing something like this, a remux can often fix up the timestamps. To give you an idea, I have a few captures that show a duration of ~4mins when they're actually 52mins simply because of wacky timestamps in the video stream (the first discontinuity is at the ~4min mark).
Diedrich 377 Posted June 25, 2018 Author Posted June 25, 2018 Yes that's an interesting question, thanks. Were you able to find anything from my logs I PM’d you?
Luke 42079 Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 No but i've seen this occasionally myself. I'm looking into it,. thanks. 1
Diedrich 377 Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 Emby Theater 3.0.3 Emby Server 3.5.3.0 Still seeing the Watched status even though I'm clearly below 90%. I'm watching with ET. Just curious if this on the docket?
Luke 42079 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 I'm not sure there's anything yet that we need to look at. You may have completed watching it some other time, and that's why the check mark would be there.

This also happens with movies that have never been watched by myself or anyone else. I'll watch to much less than 90% and it'll display the completed icon. That isn't proper behavior.

If you allow missing/future episodes (or did in the past) and at some point marked an entire season as watched, it is possible that the episode was marked before you even acquired it. Did this episode show in "Next Up" before you started playing it? A similar situation I think could possibly occur by watching a trailer for a movie and then, later, acquiring that movie (although I think maybe we plugged that hole a while back).

I do have missing/future episodes set to visible. I've had PREVIOUS seasons marked as watched because I watched all the episodes (I delete an episode after watching it), but this season hasn't been touched other than the 2 episodes I've watched/deleted and the current one in progress. As for the premature watched icon, this also happens with movies. I haven't watched trailers in a very long time so I'm very confident that isn't an issue with the movies being marked watched prematurely.
ebr 16184 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Did the episode appear in Next Up before you started it? Was there a check on it at that point? Does it show exactly the same in the web app?

Does it show exactly the same in the web app? Forgot to answer your first question. I only have Latest TV, not Next Up showing No. No check mark when showing as Next Up. Yes. I checked that too to see if it was propagating to other apps. My suspicion is that it's an issue with ET marking it as watched and sending that signal to Server. It's showing in my Android app too. Luke 42079 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 @ are you able to reproduce this with Theater? That is, stopping a video in the middle, and occasionally having it getting marked as watched?
Guest asrequested Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 The only time I see that is if I've already watched it and I'm watching it, again. In my case though, I have a lot of them duplicated in two libraries.
