Emby Admin Account Suddenly Incorrect & Forgot Password Cleared All Passwords

Greetings,

 

First, Emby is doing well.  I've been running it without issue for a while now, on a new machine, that I transferred from one machine to another.  Been able to log in via localhost URL (on the server box) and via a web URL.  Haven't had a problem until last night.

1. I went to the server and opened the localhost:port URL shortcut I made.  I use this all the time when I'm on the server, itself.
2. My admin account is a hidden account so I click on the option to manually enter the account information.  This is what I have always done and it is a local account, not an Emby connect account.
3. My admin credentials are saved by LastPass and I can see the password when I look at my vault so I know it's correct.
4. I receive a notification that my username/password are incorrect and to try again.
5. Open my phone's app, which stays logged in, and it works fine.  There are no logs of any authentication changes so no hacks.
6. I use a different machine and try and receive the same issue; I've tried both the localhost:port and web address, now.

I'm not sure why this happened all of a sudden and will provide any logs you'd like.  What I tried to do, however, and the reason for this post is that when I did the forgot password option and followed all the steps it cleared the password for all my users.  With 12-users, five of which were actively watching stuff at the time (new record), this was a huge issue.  It didn't interrupt their use of the app but it didn't save their watched data as a result.  I had to inform them of the blunder and set the passwords for all of them, again.

 

My questions are, why did my username/password suddenly fail to work -- I found another post from May where this happened to someone, also -- and why does the forget password option, even by specifying an account, clear the password for all users?  Did the password clear because it was an admin account?  Is this a holdover from an older forgot password process?
