After latest IOS update I am no longer able to stream content from my Movie folders. Worked perfectly previously. Now only get "URL not found" message. Any advice?

Refresh your library by pulling down on the screen.

Hi
I receive the URL not found error as well. This happens on Both Movies (DVD rips) and Music. The client displays the error and when you click ok the app fails, black screen. The only thing you can do is close and shut down from IOS.

Info
IOS 7.1
iPhone 5s, iPad Air
Server 3.0.5192.19560
client 1.5

Last Section of Server LogServerLog.txt

Let me know if you need more details.

Refresh library didn't work.

Thanks

Pulling down to refresh didn't do the trick. I'm having the same troubles as vicpa discribes. Convinced it has something to do with a problem in the new update. Having 3 Idevices. Two updated, One old version. Updated ones both same problem. Old vision no problem whatsoever.... Please advice

it's a known issue and I believe he said he would check into if you're referring to DVD folder rips.

Seems like there is an issue with DVD rips, I will look into it.

Thanks for the info

Is it a known issue for music as well ?

Ya I get it for music as well since the server update.

Looks like the update broke DVD playback. I will work on a fix for it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Guys, I apologize for not responding to this on time. I was held up with iPad development.

The iOS app is not optimized for music playback support, while the music is another form of media, it is a decent bit of effort to put out an optimized music player that support the playback. We are still maturing with our client and we haven't got there yet. With time am sure we will have support for all types of media. Again I apologize for your troubles.

As far as "URL not found" error goes, it is a generic error that is through for any unsupported media types. That may include, music, dvd rips. ISO folders, blu folders etc. I will add support to these media types on incremental updates.

DVD folders and Bluray folders will get experimental support with the ipad release.

Wasn't music support working before a recent server patch or did I just never try it? It seems odd that mp3 would be an unsupported media type since I can take those same files and put them on the iphone directly.

It is not a server issue, the client update broken it. On the initial release, the app was basically transcoding everything (all media types were served up in IOS support format) while this made the music support possible, it was hurting the server. So I optimized the playback by including stream copy, direct copy etc.

This solution was tailored for video playback, while I knew that this would break music playback, I had to make a tough choice to drop music support, as the player was build for videos ie., if you left the music playing for a few seconds the screen would lock and stop playback. This was sub par experience so I decided remove the music playback support.

Ideally, you would need a music player, that would run in the background and allows you to control it in locked screen. I will eventually add that support.

Hi:

Is Music then to be taken out of the client until the player issues can be sorted out ?

If I'm reading this cvorrectly it sounds like support for DVD rips will be added with the ipad release.  When is this going to happen?  This is the overwhelming majority of my library so the IOS client will be of little use to me unitl this support is added.  Thanks.
