Hi Everyone,

 

First I want to thank the developers for such a great product. I work on the road and Emby allows me to record my favorite TV shows and watch them at my leisure anywhere I have an internet connection.

 

In previous versions of Emby there was a setting to automatically convert recordings to streaming friendly format. My live TV recordings would be automatically transcoded and saved as an .mp4 file. This worked perfectly for me as it kept my file sizes small and ready to be streamed.

 

Now that this option has been removed, I have used the convert option on the library where my recordings are stored. The recordings are converted but the original .ts recording is left resulting in a duplicate entries as well as taking up extra space on my file system.

 

Is there a way to automatically convert new recordings to .mp4 and remove the original .ts when the conversion is complete?

Hi, welcome. We will soon be adding an option to replace the original file when converting, and then that will take care of this for you. Thanks !
