Folders Joining on Emby Server

I have a couple of TV shows that are similar but in different folders.

Emby keeps joining them together. Not sure how to stop this from happening.

Example:

\Media\Kids\Justice League (2001)

\Media\Kids\Justice League Action

\Media\Kids\Justice League Unlimited (2007)

Justice League Unlimited (2007) and Justice League (2001) keep merging.

You can stop it at the library level by disabling the per-library setting to auto-group series. Then run a library scan.

This is happening because they've been detected as the same series.

Or fix the root of the problem by identifying the Series that is mis-identified (if that is the case).

Which is strange because with the year in the folder name that shouldn't happen. Perhaps there was pre-existing metadata with the same Id's.

Originally I didn't put the year. I just added it and chose Refresh Meta Data.

It then showed up separately without images and then when it was complete it remerged.

Turning off auto grouping fixed the issue. I separate everything into folders anyways so this is good.

I think all you did was mask the issue though.  If those items were merged again after a refresh/scan and they shouldn't be (they are truly two separate series) then you probably had existing metadata with an improper ID in it and that is going to potentially cause issues down the line.

On thetvdb JL and JLU is merged into JL. JLU is seasons 3 thru 5. I had similar issues and just renamed per thetvdb.

Sometimes, people creates JLU as a separate series. There is even an old thread in their forums telling people not to do that.

And all the episodes:

Okay, then "officially" they are the same series so if you want them separate then turning off the option as you have done is the right answer.

rhodges - thanks for the heads up. I didn't know JLU started at Season 3. I ended up having duplicates.

Ok so that solves that.
