PrincessClevage 175 Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 This might be a silly question but what would be the URL other apps use to control media on emby?
simpman 6 Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 When you login to the website on the PC with Emby (usually http://localhost:8096)there is a menu at the top and on the right side there is a cast icon, click it to see things you can cast to. You can also control it from the web app this way.

I can see there is a tick box for this in Emby server but not sure of the URL/port to enter into remote apps so they can control emby Edited June 10, 2018 by PrincessClevage
ebr 16195 Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 Are you asking for DLNA access to Emby content or remote control of the web app (or some other Emby app)?
PrincessClevage 175 Posted June 10, 2018 Author Posted June 10, 2018 (edited) Are you asking for DLNA access to Emby content or remote control of the web app (or some other Emby app)?I have added a DLNA app http://code.mios.com/trac/mios_dlna-cntroller to my home automation system (Vera edge) and I am attempting to add the ability for it to call media to launch on my emby server which also my main client. In the DLNA app it has a section to enter the URL of the media renderer which I assume can pass variables or populates a list of available items Edited June 10, 2018 by PrincessClevage
ebr 16195 Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 Okay, I don't believe any of our Emby apps are DLNA renderers. Instead, our server is a DLNA content provider. So, DLNA apps can pull content from Emby server but I don't believe you can push content to any Emby apps via DLNA. We do have a remote control API but I don't believe that is going to do what you want here.
