burgertime 1 Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 I have emby server installed on my NAS machine which is just a headless Windows 10 box. I'm running 3.4.1.0 as I just updated from 3.3x today. We truthfully haven't been watching a lot of TV lately as work and parenting have had us pinned but my wife noticed a few days ago(still running 3.3x) that she couldn't get emby up on her chromebook. I should note that we've used emby for over a year(switched from PLEX) and have had not one single problem. emby has been an absolutely flawless piece of software. Anyhow, I remoted into the emby server host machine and updated the server to 3.4.1.0 thinking this might have been the problem - it was not. On the server dashboard, I have the same IP address listed for "LAN" 192.168.1.200:8096. That machine has a statically assigned IP address which I also verified using ipconfig. When we try to access emby via a web browser as we always had in the past, I get: "This site can’t be reached 192.168.1.200 took too long to respond. Try: Checking the connection Checking the proxy and the firewall Running Connectivity Diagnostics ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT" I went ahead and tried to access it the same way using a machine which has a wired connection but alas, I have the same problem. It seems like the server is not running, but it definitely is because I can access it on the host machine via "http://localhost:8096/web/dashboard.html"- not to mention a taskbar icon present. The only thing I can can think of that has changed between whenever the last known working time was and now, is that I swapped out our wireless router. The current router is ASUS N66. I'm not aware that I ever needed to make any setting adjustments on the last router in order to accommodate emby but it was a while back so perhaps I've forgotten. Additionally I've attached a log file, however I don't know if it will be the correct one. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
Solution Luke 42079 Posted June 10, 2018 Solution Posted June 10, 2018 Hi there, it could be windows firewall related. I would suggest checking out our connection troubleshooter: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Connectivity Please try the steps listed there and let us know exactly which ones succeed and which do not. thanks ! 1

This was it. There was some sort of embyserver.exe entry in the firewall settings which had it blocked. I deleted those entries and it now works. thank you very much! 1
