ajamils 1 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 (edited) My movie library is setup in the following hierarchy - Movies -- Kids -- 4K -- 3D -- 1080p Is there a way to build a collection automatically based on the folder? For example, I would like to have all 3D movies in once collection and all 4K movies in another. I know that I can use folder view but is there any other way? Currently I have manually made the collection but whenever I add another movie, I have to go in an add it again. For 3D, I can just filter the movies and add them to collection (though there should be a "Select All" option) but there is no filter for 4k movies. Can that be added? That would at least make manual selection easier. Edited June 8, 2018 by ajamils
Luke 42080 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 One option is you could do four separate movie libraries.
ajamils 1 Posted June 8, 2018 Author Posted June 8, 2018 Just tested it and it's works ok with Emby web but since I'm using Kodi as frontend, it does not work with it. I don't see any option to just select 4K movies, unless I have them as a separate "Collection". One option is you could do four separate movie libraries.
Luke 42080 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 If you try the EmbyCon addon for Kodi, that should work.
ajamils 1 Posted June 8, 2018 Author Posted June 8, 2018 Just tried that. It makes it even worse as as it take away the main advantage of Emby over Plex i.e. the integration in Kodi library. I think the solution could be very simple. Just like the current collections are automatically created, when a new movie is added, compare keyword with existing Collection and add it. For example, if I already have a collection for "3D Movies" whenever a new 3D movie is added, just add it to the same collection. Similarly for 4K (UHD) movies. Speaking for UHD/4k movies, this should be added in filters as well. Currently filters are there for 3D, HD and other formats but not for 4K stuff. If that's there then atleast I can just filter to all 4K movies and then add them to the collection. Also, there should be a way to "select all". It's no fun selecting 50+ movies one by one. If you try the EmbyCon addon for Kodi, that should work.
Angelblue05 4132 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 (edited) With Emby for Kodi, only one boxset can be assigned per movie. Is it possible to accomplish what you want with a smart playlist in Kodi? Since content is part of your library, you can use smart playlists to do more. Adding a filter tag contains "{Emby library name}" will allow you to get content for that library only which you can add additional filters to. Edit: You can also add additional tags in Emby which will be added to Kodi if you want. For example, all your 3D movies could have the tag 3D. Then in Kodi you can create a smart playlist with both the library tag and the 3D tag. Edited June 8, 2018 by Angelblue05
