stony79 0 Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 @@stony79 As an initial test - can you install vlc and play a video ok directly on the server - so no emby involvement also this is Server 2016 with the full gui - i.e. not the core version @@PenkethBoy I installed the latest vlc and playback of video is fine, no problem The server 2016 is with gui, it is a Server 2016 Standard
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 copy this into a *.bat file and put it in a directory - then copy in a couple of the problem mkv files REM Testing for loop FOR %%m in (*.mkv) do ( REM ReMux MKV to MP4 and remove chapters F:\Video\ffmpeg\bin\ffmpeg -i "%%m" -c:v copy -c:a copy -map_chapters -1 "%%~nm.mp4" echo ==================================================== ) change the path to the emby ffmpeg version on your server Save and run the bat file all it does is copy the video and audio streams to a MP4 file and remove any chapters - it should run very quickly see if you get any errors on the command window if you do get errors try a diff version of ffmpeg as luke suggested
stony79 0 Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 @@PenkethBoy I did as you described, I put 3 videos in an folder and the script and there are no errors and the MP4 files run in vlc. log of the script is attached test_log.txt
stony79 0 Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 was that using the emby ffmpeg? Yes, I changed the path to the ffmpeg of emby
Luke 42078 Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 can you try playing something that can direct play without ffmpeg involvement? thanks.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 all three of those files have errors - frame size not set - which may or may not affect emby
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 Add the three files you have run through ffmpeg to an emby library - setup a test one then scan them in and try and play the mp4 files

stony79 0 Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 It seems like it is the emby hue control plugin... I was afraid of it. Then I have to look for another solution or see if I can write such a plugin myself.
stony79 0 Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 You can also report the problem to the developer. I think that wouldn't help because the developer wasn't online for the last 9 month. here is the thread about that plugin https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/44781-plugin-for-controlling-hue-light/?hl=%2Bhue+%2Bcontrol it was nice that the light went off automatically when you started a movie and turned on again at pause or stop.
