Nintendo Switch Support.

I was wondering if an Nintendo Switch Emby app was possible. Due to a lack of media apps like Netflix and Hulu not being available in the UK. I'm unable to watch any media on my Switch at all! It would be great if I could watch Regular Show and other TV shows on the go. I would love it if an Emby app for Nintendo Switch was made.

Is there a web browser, and if so does it run the web app?

There is a web browser but it is hidden. I've read another post relating to this and no. It cannot run Emby through the web browser!

Can you try it and see if that's still true?

Also, does their app store actually have any apps that aren't games?

1. I've tried it! It connects to the server and it loads up stuff. But it cannot play anything. (Using SwitchBru as that's the only way to practically access the web browser)

2. In the US eshop there is Hulu a streaming app like Netflix.

Ui on what? Emby Web Page or Hulu?

Oh. Yeah the UI looks fine. No HTML or CSS problems it's just that videos won't play.

Can you try a plain mp4 with h264 video and aac or mp3 audio?

I've only tried h.264 and h.265 video. But I think if it can't play video I don't think it can play audio ether.

Ok thanks.

Does that mean a Switch app will be made/considered or is it just a dead idea now?

It's possible for the future. Thanks.

Another option might be to use a DLNA client (such as VLC) on the Switch.

Modded switch has a jellyfin client for media hopefully envy gets a alternative app also unsure how well it works gonna see if it will connect to my emby server

How about no. Every time a game console gets media playback it's always garbage and there is nothing but constant hassle. Nintendo is not exactly friendly to work with either.

Hi just want to say after my Apple TV died I now don't have a way to stream to my TV without using the computer directly (running an HDMI cable across the ground). Without spending even more money, I just want to bump this thread for its utility. Thanks!

any update on getting Emby to work on the Switch or now Switch 2? iPad died and sWitch2 came out so seemed like a better option as similar pricing. But didn't realize my Emby wouldn't work which really sucks.

+1 for Switch 2. YouTube and Crunchyroll are also making their app compatible.

Showing my support for Emby on Switch, especially since the Switch 2's screen is so much bigger! Would be a great way to watch things on the go & at home for sure.

+1, if i could only have this app on the device, all of my problems will have been solved. World peace achieved, and life will be good. I will go to church.

I installed the Android version on my switch OLED thinking it would be great but the 720p screen resolution at that screen size turned out to be pretty disappointing. In the end I prefer to just use my phone.
