580guy 4 Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Are there any arguments to use when starting EmbyServer.exe to prevent it popping up my browser on startup? I tried it as a service, but have problems scanning my libraries on an external server properly (always aborts early). Works fine starting it manually with the .exe file in my startup folder, but it loads my browser on startup. I tried /? in the commandline but nothing appeared for options. Thanks.

Not directly answering your question, but pretty sure the reason Emby couldn't access external servers is because you had the service running as a local system account, which can't authenticate with remote networks. You can create a new user and make sure it can authenticate to the remote server, then set the "Log On" tab of the Emby service to that account instead of local system.

I checked as I still have the service installed, only disabled. It is using a system acount. However, it may be that I need to use a server account for total access to the shares on the server. Thanks for reminding me about user accounts! I'll try it and see. For the time being, as long as I can disable the browser on startup, I'm fine without the service. Plus I like the little icon in the taskbar. Very handy and always available. Thanks for your reply. Even better, explore the settings in your Emby server dashboard Ahh! Found it in the settings. That's a new option I've never seen before. Thanks!
