RRo100 10 Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 (edited) Hello Like, I am very busy with the metadata recognition of emby and do not understand the logic. I could not find anything in the WIKI. I've re-installed emby in different configurations. If I only select "TheAudioDB" for music, no data will be found. I used Abracadaba from ABC group for testing. The behavior is the same for other albums. In the test with "TheAudioDB" the ID of MusicBrainz was filled in the artist metadata. Luke 42078 Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 What data is missing? Did you check to see what is on the audio db website for those IDs?
RRo100 10 Posted May 27, 2018 Author Posted May 27, 2018 Often the artist images are missing. 1. As you can see in the post above, no ID's are filled if I just select "TheAudioDB" as the metadata downloader. 2. If I choose the default settings, first Musicbrainz second TheAudioDB: 2.1 The "Album External Ids" is missing the "MusicBrainz Artist Id" and the "TheAudioDb Artist Id" is available. 2.2 In the "Artists External Ids" the "TheAudioDb Id" is empty, even though the ID is present at the "Album External Ids" and missing "MusicBrainz Artist Id" from the "Album External Ids" is now in the "Artists External Ids " available. strange 4. Even if the "Artists External Ids" has the correct "MusicBrainz Id", no image is displayed. If I enter the registered "MusicBrainz Id" via "identify" as a selection, the image will be loaded. very strange 5. When I enter the registered "TheAudioDb Artist Id" via "identify" as a selection, EMBY crashes and I restart the EMBY service. !NOT GOOD! testing it costs a lot of time :-)
Luke 42078 Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 As you can see in the post above, no ID's are filled if I just select "TheAudioDB" as the metadata downloader. This is by design. AudioDb is based on musicbrainz ids. If you don't have musicbrainz id's already in your metadata, and you don't enable musicbrianz, then this is the result that you'll get.
Luke 42078 Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 As far as the rest goes, I'm not able to reproduce the problem. See my screenshot:
Luke 42078 Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 I will give you one hint though, and it appears the answer to my question in post #2 is "no, you did not". On musicbrainz, there are more than one artist id's for ABC: https://musicbrainz.org/artist/87199477-b0df-4ead-84ee-9b54b4abfc3d https://musicbrainz.org/artist/103d0f42-e3bb-453b-ae5b-fe6c7cb09b58 The second one is the one you have, however the first one is the one AudioDb has. Audiodb has no record of that musicbrainz id and that is why you got no musicbrainz information. You can see for yourself here: http://www.theaudiodb.com/artist/113125
RRo100 10 Posted May 28, 2018 Author Posted May 28, 2018 (edited) Luke, my Emby is installed on a QNAP. For the test I installed a new Windows system and installed EMBY. Then I also installed music from Aerosmith (as in your example). The result is the following: 4. Even if the "Artists External Ids" has the correct "MusicBrainz Id", no image is displayed. If I enter the registered "MusicBrainz Id" via "identify" as a selection, the image will be loaded. On Windows and QNAP 5. When I enter the registered "TheAudioDb Artist Id" via "identify" as a selection, EMBY crashes and I restart the EMBY service. at QNAP, not at windows Maybe it's the version, but I can not do any more. When will the next official version be released? Edited May 28, 2018 by RRo100
Luke 42078 Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 Even if the "Artists External Ids" has the correct "MusicBrainz Id", no image is displayed. Again I think you might be wrong here. Very often, artists will have multiple music brainz ids. However, the only source for artist images is AudioDb, and AudioDb is based on music brainz ids. So if an artist has two music brainz ids, like my Aerosmith, let's call those id's A and B. The AudioDb has images based on ID A, but your metadata has musicbrainz ID B, this is why no images are found.
Luke 42078 Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 When I enter the registered "TheAudioDb Artist Id" via "identify" as a selection, EMBY crashes and I restart the EMBY service. at QNAP, not at windows Please attach the information requested in how to report a problem. Thanks.
RRo100 10 Posted June 3, 2018 Author Posted June 3, 2018 (edited) Even if you think that I'm wrong here. I reinstalled Emy and created a new library. There is no image shown in over 300 artists Edited June 3, 2018 by RRo100
