Hi,

My Emby server has several HD Homerun tuners, including a CONNECT, EXTEND and a PRIME.  I have noticed for quite some time that when Emby grabs a tuner for whatever reason (recording or just watching live) it will not release that tuner if the NEXT tuner in sequence on that device was also in use.

For example, today I did a test and tuned to local channel 30.1 on my Windows Emby client.  The light on tuner one of my HD CONNECT came on, indicating that Emby had grabbed that tuner for the live stream.  Shortly after that, using my Android client I tuned to another local station (I think it was 7.3) and the SECOND light on the CONNECT came on, as I would expect.  After playing the two channels for a minute or two I then went back to the Windows client and STOPPED the live channel stream.  However, the light on the tuner stayed on, indicating the first tuner was still in use, even though I had stopped the stream on my client.

I then tuned to another local station and Emby had to roll over to the EXTEND tuner, because as far as it was concerned there were no more open tuners on the CONNECT device, even though there should have been.

I had long observed this behavior when Emby used to transcode on the fly when recording, so I sort of attributed it to that function.  However, since Emby 3.4.1 does not support that any more, I was surprised the behavior was still there.

It hasn't caused me to miss any recordings because I have 4 OTA tuners available and rarely record more than 2 programs at a time.  But at some point a situation will arise when all the tuners are "busy" and I will miss a recording, even though there should be a least one open tuner available.

My question is:  Is this behavior normal?  If so, are there any thoughts of fixing it?

By the way, I have also seen this happen on my Prime tuner, so it's not just limited to the OTA tuners.

Thanks

hi @@csadoian, there have been some changes around this for the next release so I would suggest trying that once it is available. Thanks !
