Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Would like to be able to push notices to users through the system. The notice would be pushed to the client and displayed on the screen when created. The user can delete the notice and not be bothered again unless it is a persistant notice. Options: Text - Text of the notice. Start Date - When to start displaying the notice. If empty, current date. End Date - When to stop displaying the notice. Persistant - If selected, the end user can't dismiss it. Users - checklist of users to send the notice to. Examples: Sent only to user Suzy. Sorry Suzy, You have been grounded from the television. Your permissions will be restored on April 15th, 2014. Sent to everyone Remember the Family Camping Trip on June 24th, 2014 Christmas Movie Message The Holidays are just around the corner. A Christmas Movie Collection has been made available for your Enjoyment Deleting Content Due to lack of viewing of the following television series they will be archived and eventually deleted. Series: Series A, Series B, Series C. If you are planning to watch these series, let dad know before May 1st, 2014. This would require client support as well for the format and display of the Notices. Edited March 27, 2014 by Wayne Luke 1
ebr 16177 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 The remote control API actually already contains a message command. It just isn't implemented in very many things yet. Or, maybe anything?
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 That would be a step forward but it would be a one-time blast to a specific client correct? Not sent to a user regardless of what client they are on.
ebr 16177 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I don't recall exactly but it isn't as detailed as what you requested here I'm sure.
