Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Hello Com, hello Team Emby, i have a problem. There are 3 Task from a plugin, that would not be start after the server wakes up from standby. There is a Task Timer in it, every 24h hours and then i create a second one, with 10 am. but when the server wakes up at for example 8pm the task would not be start. log.txt Can you see why not ? I think it should be run every task how was missed after a wakeup ?
Luke 42078 Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 If you set it to only run at 10am, then it will only run at 10am. The server needs to be awake at that time. I would instead recommend using the interval based timer of every 24 hours.
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 (edited) If you set it to only run at 10am, then it will only run at 10am. The server needs to be awake at that time. I would instead recommend using the interval based timer of every 24 hours. So by your recommendation, what happens when after 24h hours the server is not running ? With that "On application startup" its not meaning after wakeup form standby, rather when i start the emby.exe right ? Edited May 22, 2018 by Kodi_Newcomer
Luke 42078 Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 With that "On application startup" its not meaning after wakeup form standby, rather when i start the emby.exe right ? Correct.
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 (edited) So what can i do, that the task runs after the server wakesup and has missed the 24h hours interval. Most at the time, the server starts at 10 am, 11 am its differently. But most when we watch tv at evening the server wakes up at 9pm or so. I use automatic series recording, so its important that the task run on each day, to search for episodes and create timers. . Edited May 22, 2018 by Kodi_Newcomer
Luke 42078 Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 If you use the interval trigger than it should run when the machine comes out of standby. 1
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted May 23, 2018 Author Posted May 23, 2018 (edited) @@Luke I have create a interval trigger for every 12h hours, i cant set it up to 24 hours. The other trigger is at startup. So but today the same, both off the task runs a day ago. Edited May 23, 2018 by Kodi_Newcomer
Luke 42078 Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Ok we can expand the options in that dropdown. thanks. 1
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted May 24, 2018 Author Posted May 24, 2018 (edited) So the task's will not run after standby from livetv. Guide Refresh 2 days ago, Autocreate 1 day ago. Edited May 24, 2018 by Kodi_Newcomer
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted May 25, 2018 Author Posted May 25, 2018 Server log? Log is incoming again. 2 of 3 task are not start after wakeup. The third one did every day. There it works. I have wake the server up at 19:40 pm some minutes + or -. log.txt
Luke 42078 Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Please try this again with the next release, thanks. 1
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted July 17, 2018 Author Posted July 17, 2018 Please try this again with the next release, thanks. Hello Luke, i have updated to 3.5.0 but i cant see more task options. When i click in help, i can see the option resume from sleep. But for me there is no option like this. (Win 10 64bit) This is what i see on the wiki page. But this option i cant set for my task timers
Luke 42078 Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Sorry, that trigger is not available for configuration because it isn't' supported on all platforms.
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted July 17, 2018 Author Posted July 17, 2018 Any plans for supporting this on windows ? This would be great, because my server runs full automatic, when he do nothing he go to sleep, when he should do something like recording he wake up and do his work, after that he go to sleep again. So when you can support this "trigger after resum from sleep" on windows that would be great. For now i have many task timers for some task that at the most time it works on the fly. But i dont know how good is this for performance and emby, when he has so many timers for some task's ? Or maybe there is another option, like the same on windows. Run Task directly after he is missing when the system runs again.
Luke 42078 Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 What do you want to do after resuming from sleep?
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted July 19, 2018 Author Posted July 19, 2018 What do you want to do after resuming from sleep? Start some Task's.
Luke 42078 Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 It's possible to add this trigger in the future but for now i would just use what we already have, schedule the library scan to run every X number of hours.
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted July 29, 2018 Author Posted July 29, 2018 @@Luke So maybe there can be add a feature, that when the timer cant start because the server is not running, he starts automaticly after the server is running again, So that a missed timer is made up ?
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted July 30, 2018 Author Posted July 30, 2018 (edited) We already do this on Windows. So this is in the actual release ? So when i set 10 am and the server starts from standby at 19pm he start the task how should run at 10 am ? Is this automaticly or is there an option somewhere ? Edited July 30, 2018 by Kodi_Newcomer
maegibbons 1287 Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 He means for the "interval timer" NOT at a certain Time. So set something to trigger every 12 hours. If your machine is then off for more than 12 hours THEN the task should run once the machine has woken up again. At least that is my understanding!! Krs Mark
Kodi_Newcomer 27 Posted July 30, 2018 Author Posted July 30, 2018 ah ok. And for my example, there are any plans ?
