Pat Rooney 0 Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 I'm having problems getting Kodi to work with Emby. I'm running Kodi 17.6 and I'm not sure which version of the client I should use. What's the difference between versions 2.3.63 and 3.0.26 in the Public Testing folder, or should I stick to the 1.0.5 version which doesn't seem to have been updated? Thanks!
feerlessleadr 173 Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 (edited) It looks like you are confusing the emby for kodi plugin with the emby for kodi repos. the zip that ends with 2.3.63 is for people running Kodi Isengard or Jarvis ONLY. Since you are running Krypton, this version is not relevant for you. Your best bet is to download the emby beta repository using this link to download the beta repo zip (https://embydata.com/downloads/addons/xbmb3c/kodi-beta-repo/repository.beta.emby.kodi-1.0.5.zip), then install the emby for kodi beta repo in kodi using the 'install from zip file'. Once the repo is installed, go to the install from repository section in the addon browser, select the emby for kodi beta repo, select the video addons section and install the latest emby for kodi (the latest version is in the repo). This way your addon will auto update as well. Edited May 22, 2018 by feerlessleadr 1
Pat Rooney 0 Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Thank you! The fact that there are two Emby addons along with the repository is very confusing, especially with the repository referring to version 1.0.5. Anyway, I followed your directions and it worked like a charm. Somone might want to make this a pinned topic as the existing instructions are out of date.
feerlessleadr 173 Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 you're welcome - The pinned topic here is where I got all of the instructions and links when I first installed (and is where I pulled the links for this post as well). 1
