Emby live TV - where to start

Hi all

 

I am using Emby-Server for my local content and I am very happy with it.

 

Now I would like to add live TV. But I have no idea where to start. I have read the wiki, but still do not know how to get started.

 

I run my Emby-Server on a debian 8 virtual machine on a HP microserver gen8. Do I need to buy any additional hardware?

 

Anyone can point me in a direction?

It seems like this is for a cable TV service subscription. Is there an alternative for IPTV?

Ok thanks, I do not even know if this is available in my country (Switzerland). Need to find out.

So you do not need an extra antenna for this?

Well you would need to hook up the HD Homerun to your incoming OTA live tv signal, which may or may not be coming from an antenna.

I use "Zattoo" for watching TV. Is there a way to combine something like this with Emby? Does not have to be Zattoo, it can be any Internet-based TV-System.

 

The IPTV form my provider is encrypted a can only be watch with the "tv-box" from the provider.

Yeah, there are more then enough of illegal providers to choose from. And then the people come here to complain about the bad channel management in Emby with all their "VOD channels" [emoji6]
