paulsalter 84 Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Hi, First just want to say thanks for this feature, it woks very well to convert my files into more stream friendly formats I have noticed an issue, or is this intended behaviour I did a convert of a few shows yesterday, eg Come Home - S01E01 - Episode 1.ts This has the nfo files in the directory with it with a date added for March when the show aired When the convert is finished, the file name is slightly modified Come Home - S01E01 - Episode 1 -tv.mp4 This causes Emby to create a new nfo file for the mp4 (Come Home - S01E01 - Episode 1 -tv.nfo) , with the date added as the date of conversion This show now moves to the front of recently added as though its just been added Can the files be renamed the same name as original, so that the original nfo file is used, keeping original details So I would have Come Home - S01E01 - Episode 1.ts (original recording) Come Home - S01E01 - Episode 1.mp4 (converted recording) Come Home - S01E01 - Episode 1.nfo (original file with extra details for the converted version) Thanks
Luke 42085 Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 If adds whatever profile you select as a suffix to the filename. We will be adding a setting to allow you to replace the original file if that's what you prefer. Thanks. 1
DerrickM 23 Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Does it only convert unplayable files or will it convert everything that isn't an mp4 with the tv profile, and everything that is not an mp3 with the mobile profile?
Luke 42085 Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 It converts everything that doesn't already meet the target conversion criteria that you select. Does that answer your question? 1
DerrickM 23 Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Yeah I think so, Mp3 and mp4 being the only options for extensions right (one for mobile the other for tv)?
Luke 42085 Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Mp3 is for music and mp4 is for video. TV actually targets mkv/mp4, meaning, if it has to convert, it will use mkv, but it wouldn't convert an mp4 that already meets all other criteria. It is the same idea with music. TV targets mp3.
