Emby for Kodi - Some TV shows not syncing

Hi developers.

I've recently moved my 1000+ movies and 4000+ tv episodes over to Emby. Overall I'm happy with how it manages things. I am however having trouble syncing the info into Kodi which I use for playback in 2 rooms (one is a Windows PC, other is Vero4K - both running krypton). There are a bunch of entire tv shows that are missing, and the sync on start up is not picking these up. Further to this, it seems that watched status is not being syncing properly for some tv shows that ARE present in Kodi. It takes a long time to reimport the whole library so I would like to avoid this if possible.

Can anyone give me pointers of where to look through logs to try to ascertain problem, I have looked at the kodi log and Emby server log, neither of which showed anything suspicious (to my eyes).

FYI - latest version of the Emby server is used (synology NAS), as well as latest version of Emby for Kodi. I also have fast sync disabled.

Cheers for any advice given :)

Please disregard previous info r.e. episode status not syncing. I was reviewing the watched status on Emby logged in as a different user to the configured user in Emby for Kodi. My bad. Main problem r.e. entire shows not syncing remains.

Can you provide a kodi log? In the web client, edit metadata > don't edit, just hit save for one of the shows that do not show up in Kodi. Wait a minute and provide your Kodi log. Hopefully that'll show us why you are missing those entries.

Sure can... looks like it is skipping because show is 'empty'?

Ok so this is getting very annoying now.

I came home from work this afternoon, turned the kodi machine on, went away for a bit, came back - and ALL the TV shows were gone. I figured I may as well reset the local database since I've lost them all anyway, so I did that...

All movies loaded back in fine (my problems never seem to affect movies) and then the TV shows started loading. When it was done and I went into the TV Shows the ONLY ones there were the ones which I had 'edited' last night to generate the logs above (and a new show that has only just been added)...

What is going on here? I have saved the kodi log from this in case it is needed. But Emby for Kodi was set at info not debug...

Sorry I couldn't reply sooner. Please refrain from posting logs directly in your post. Instead upload it to pastebin or another upload site.

First of, go to the add-on settings > sync options. Enable sync empty shows. @@Luke someone else with that childcount issue.

Second, do you have any clean on update running? Disable/don't use any update library either.

Repair your library should do the trick. Launch emby for kodi > repair database > Select your tv shows. And let me know if they disappear still.

Thanks for advice. I enabled sync empty shows and this  allowed the extra shows to sync - this must be a bug yeah? The shows are definitely NOT empty...

There is no clean on update enabled, and i know not to use the 'update library' function.

Why can i not see the repair library option in the addon settigns? Am I going blind?

I have encountered another problem with this addon unfortunately -- i'm starting to think it is not stable enough for me to use :( will post in new thread

It is a server bug. The server reports the shows as empty. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do to resolve this. I've already made Luke aware of this.

For the other issue, I've replied to your other post. The add-on is a project. It will have quirks but I'm usually quick to fix the issues I can. Of course, reporting issue helps make this project more stable. But it's been going for a few years and I think it's pretty stable for what we attempt to do. Needless to say it comes with the territory, when we go above and beyond Kodi's regular purpose.

You can always use Embycon which is the expected approach to access dynamic content in Kodi.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I appreciate your help :) I will continue to work with you to try to make the add-on more stable :)
