MarcusJ 18 Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I just made some progress on troubleshooting this. I simply renamed one of the stubborn movies that wouldn't join the collection (just added the word "TEST" to the name). I also renamed its parent folder to the same thing. I then deleted the existing .nfo file. Then I ran a library scan and the movie was added as a new movie. I went into the metadata and performed an "Identify" because the system didn't recognize the file name as a movie. Then I updated other metadata fields to my preferences and saved it. Then I added it to the existing collection and it worked just fine. Not sure why this works, but it does. Its not a fix to whatever is causing it, but it seems to be a good work around. I'll continue doing this with the other stubborn movies, and once I get them all in the collection, I'll play around with how to get the correct file names back on the files and parent folders.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Maybe some corruption in the library.db, as your scenario worked by creating a new entry in the database as it has a new path/name do deal with.
MarcusJ 18 Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Another update... I was able to rename all the movies and their parent files, re-scan them into the library, and successfully add them back into the appropriate collection. However, I was NOT able to then go back and rename those same files and folders to their original names. Doing so caused the same problem to immediately return. So, for me, I went through the same steps again, renamed the files and folders to a different, but acceptable name and successfully get them added back to the collection. I agree with Happy2Play - it feels like a db corruption issue, but I am not aware how to actually fix that problem. The steps I took are an effective workaround.
bluezog 7 Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Hi all, well i'll add my update too. I followed what @@MarcusJ did and removed the films that were not showing up in the collections from the library and deleted the Boxsets. Scanned the libraries, renamed the film folders and video files (I just added an extra space between the film name and date). Added them back to the library and scanned and refreshed boxsets and all three films appeared in their respective collections. So all sorted now, all with just adding an extra space. It must be as @@Happy2Play suggested, a db corruption, just glad it got sorted out. Thanks again for all the help and suggestions. 1
Guest Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 (edited) Having same issue. Was there ever a fix for this? Two of the movies like the OP, refuse to add themselves to my library. Removing them and adding them back does nothing. Renaming does nothing. When I was using Plex it found the fine so I know they work and are playable . EDIT: After some digging I relized that the two movies, Return of the Jedi, and The empire stikes back were being named without Star Wars in the Title by Emby or the Meta data thing. Either way they are there for me just dont have Star Wars in the title even though I named them such in my library. So all is good in the world again. Edited October 1, 2020 by Guest

Guest Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 (edited) I edited my above post. Cheers. Oh sorry to answer your question I thought they werent adding to the library itself. So being able to add them to the collection wasnt possible until I figured out they were being added to Emby without a Star Wars in the title. All is good and they are in my Star Wars Collection folder now. Edit: This was also before I discovered the Auto Box Set Plugin which may have sorted that issue by itself. Now of course they all follow the "Star Wars: Episode X nomenclature. 1
Guest Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Lol. I'm old enough to know what the original 3 were, just didn't realize they didn't always have Star Wars in the beginning of the title.
