Protektor 12 Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 I wish Emby would read MusicBrainz metadata tags in music. I use Picard to tag all my music (MP3, FLAC, etc) and have it put in all the MusicBrainz tags (Album ID, Artist ID, Song ID, etc) so technically if you read those tags then Emby would know exactly what song it is, exactly who the artist is, even when there are multiple artists/bands with that name, and exactly which album release (country, deluxe, etc) that the song came from. Picard by MusicBrainz is nice because it lets you audio finger print a song, so even if you don't know exactly what album it is on, or even what the song is because it isn't tagged at all. Picard can usually figure it out and tag it properly. PIcard is open source and available for Linux, Mac and Windows.I know that Emby is already using MusicBrainz for metadata so it just make sense to go ahead and read the MusicBrainz tags if they exist. Then you can recommend everyone tag their music with Picard so it gets read properly because sorting out music isn't an easy task when there are multiple releases of the same album with different track order and different track amounts. 2
