Hardware acceleration

Hello !

How can I activate transcoding via hardware acceleration ?

I choose VA API, my server is in version 3.4.1.0, and my QNAP model is TS-253 Pro

All my clients are iOS or web 

 

When media is transcoding the CPU is full so I think there is no hardware acceleration

Ok, then if you're running our official QNAP package from our website, VAAPI support is included. Are you doing that?

This is mpeg4 which vaapi does not support. Try playing something where the source video is h264.

I think it works. To bad for the mpeg4...

The speed difference you are seeing is because the Westworld episode is already an H.264 bitstream, hardware acceleration is definitely not being used.

Try lowering the quality setting in the video player to force it to transcode.
