Hi

i update my emby server using the deb package on emby homesite  since the update never arrived at the ubuntu update,

Since i got bigg problem withe my folders i had to rollback, i uninstall emby and install it using the terminal again.

but now emby is acting very strange, if i start a movie, i cant fast ford and the timeline is jumping like crazy,  i cant change sub or audio

emby is not showing the option for  that at all.

i tryde different ffmpeg versions but no luck.

Sorry, this was a rollback, or a brand new installation? Because if it's a brand new installation then you really ought to use our newer packages that we have on the emby website.

hmm god questone,  i removed emby by: sudo apt-get autoremove emby-server then run sudo apt-get install emby-server

i then used mybackup to get users, folders etc back

questone: are you removing emby from ubuntu pp update so now on i need to manually update emby every time it's coming a new version?   and if so, way?

That is our legacy install package, built with older technology. The .deb files are our newer version, built with newer and faster tech. We may do a repository for them in the future.

So after trying to remove and reinstall again using: sudo apt-get autoremove/remove and purge and finally manually removing every trace of emby i tryde to install it again. and only gott errors, stating that the files are hidden and cannot be just.

so finally i reinstalled ubuntu, install the "new" emby. luckily i had backup off my users and files so i just needed to set up samba and fix the user attribute and now its up and running again.

It would really be a good idea if you could make a clear statement telling users not to mix the 2 different packages. and that you stopped pushing updates to pp.

Ps: the "new" version seems a bit glitchy, movies stops playing in the middle and some movies won't start to play if i don't try several times. etc

is that something you noticed or gott info about?

Thanks, yes you are right. I haven't seen anything regarding the playback issues.
